Peninsula Players Theatre is proud to announce that it was awarded a $30,000 grant from The Shubert Foundation. In 2025, the Foundation awarded $42 million to 672 not-for-profit arts organizations across the United States, bringing its total giving to more than $653 million since its inception. This award marks the 11th consecutive year Peninsula Players Theatre has received support from the Foundation.

The Shubert Foundation is the nation’s largest private foundation dedicated to unrestricted funding for not-for-profit theatres, with a secondary focus on dance. The Foundation was established in 1945 by Lee Shubert and J.J. Shubert in memory of their brother, Sam Shubert. It is the sole shareholder of The Shubert Organization, which currently owns and operates 17 Broadway theatres and six off-Broadway theatres.
Peninsula Players Theatre is America’s oldest professional resident summer theatre.
