A tale of love, family and discovering your wings.
Directed by Elizabeth Margolius
Sponsored by Tim & Jackie Danis
The Donnelly sisters are grieving over the loss of their mother and are ready for their lives to begin. We are in a country house in mid-1950s Ireland. Kathleen wavers on the eve of her wedding, torn between Leo, her sweet-tempered yet bookish fiancé, and Freddy, a dashing young actor from her past. Eveline struggles with conflicting priorities: a sense of responsibility for her lonely widowed father Peter, a coveted university scholarship and emerging feelings for Charlie, Leo’s surly roving brother. The family struggles over all this with humor and love. Ghosts and revelations of long-held secrets emerge, and all must make their choices and discover their wings.
